No, they dont need to be glued on to the outdrives. They just sit on the little lip on the inner plate edge (self locating really)

Make sure you used the silicone grease than was supplied on each diff ball, and that the bearings on the adjustment screw is installed properly.

Best to strip it all down and re-build again as per manual. Also check that the diff plate rings are smooth and notch free. If one side is damaged just flip it around and use the other side of the plate.
