I use a 1500mAh Flightpower Lipo (£28.99), as it means I can use slightly lower capacity lipos, and can then position the Rx pack for better weight distribution. The BEC will handle the servo and stuff fine, it's just my preference to use a Rx pack, most people don't bother. To use one though, you must take the red wire out of the ESC - Rx lead's plug (just lift the middle tab of the plug with the tip of a knife and pull the wire out) otherwise you will cook your receiver.

I also use it so the radio doesn't have to re-bind and re-power up when the battery is plugged in, which isn't much of a problem anyway.
