Spring testing
The illustrated 'nut and bolt' spring tester will only give you a comparison between the pair of springs, obviously it will not tell you their actual spring rate.
I have had a number of Schumacher SSGT spring pairs, i.e. the same colour that when tested using this method were very obviously not the same spring rate, so this method is useful for sorting them out and being able to match pairs.
It only goes to show though that you cannot always rely on what the spring colour or the packet says, so for the really serious racer this is where a true spring tester may be useful and as Mark has said Zen Racing can supply the G-Force example.
