This is my knowldge about the 5 ways to build the shocks:
1. Standard shocks:
- built as per instruction manual
- using the Diaphragms
2. Standard shocks with vented caps:
- built as per instruction manual, but the shock cap is replaced by 4209
- letting away the screw allows a very "sensitve" working of the suspension, but no more rebound
3. Shocks with vented caps, emulsion
- build without the bladders /diaphragms but with vented caps
- maximum possible sensitivity, but not very usable on tracks with huge jumps
- the vented caps come with O-rings, so no need to cut the bladders /diaphragms
4. Standard shocks, emulsion
- build as per instruction, but the bladder is "cut away", but you need the outer ring of the bladder as the seal for the shock cap.
- more grip on slippery surfaces
- note taht after a flip over it may take a few seconds that the oil can "damp" and after a while the oil fully filled with bubbles
5. Standard shocks, foam
- built as pert instruction, but above the bladder/diaphragm there is a block of foam
- very stiff suspension
