I think I'll run with the big boys as I have barely a 10.5 to my name (I killed 2 in Naul at Xmas!) - if we get any youngsters down, it's likely they'll be running brushless RTR B4.1s and the like, so 3300kv motors (10.5) are exactly right for clubman class.

I know a bit about Hobbywing speedos, so can advise on those. They also make a true stock speedo for just this sort of occurence, the Justock, and the best part is, it's £34 from Giantcod!

It also does well in F1s, crawlers (with outrunner motors!) and I'm sure a few other classes, so easy to find a new home once the driver graduates to mod racing.

I rather like that the RCCAOI doesn't have a homologation list, prefering the common sense "no, you'll have to take that afterburner and wheel scythes off" approach to such things. No real need when the association is relatively small.
