I'd definitely say it's original. As already pointed out the ceramic resistor, proper branded decals, and number on the box are all giveaways.
I thought those techniplus radios were such an advance back in the day with the LED power indicator rather than the analogue dial
Pop it on eBay mate. Big audience for vintage Tamiya on there.
