On body shells, they don't need to be a Tamiya body but still need to be a scale/recognizable representation of a real car. For example HPI make some nice bodys for the M chassis cars.

It might demonstrate that you don't need a million scale HP to have fun!
Some of the greatest races I ever took part in was using a humble M-chassis Mini cooper with a silver can.
