Wycombe Winter Series 2013/2014 Sponsored by www.xfactoryrc.co.uk

After the first round of the Winter Series earlier this month where Michael Wright took, TQ and Win from Darren Boyle, the 2ns round took place on a much more flowing track. With entries going up from 16 at the first round to 23 at the 2nd round.

After the first round of FTQ, Boyle was on top followed closely by Bob Holloway. Jamie Armitage was only another 3 seconds behind Holloway.

Second round of FTQ continued with Boyle leading, this time Armitage had up’d his game and closed down Boyles lead to just 5 seconds. Michael now up to 3rd place. Our South African friend (is he actually or is it a bad impression of one?) Gary Jordaan was driving like a Pagan and representing his country well in A-5. Wycombe Virgin Barry Hean was only 1 second off A-6 spot, held by Sam Dimelow.

Third round of FTQ, saw Boyle pull out a whole lap lead over the chasing pack. Jimmy Whitehall brought on the PWR and up’d to A-4. Meanwhile B-6, held by Andy Evans was closely contested all the way down to Rob Driver in C-4 by less than a lap.

After the 4th and final round of FTQ, Boyle was still top but Wright was upto 2nd now. South African Jordaan was upto A-4. Holloway was driving on a new handset after a previous club meet meltdown (smashing handset in rage) was now in A-6.

After the 4 rounds, B-1 Held by Hean) all the way to C-6 (held by Tom Kirkham) was only separated by 2 laps.
The D-Final was sewn up by Ian Smith with 3 straight wins. However the race for 2nd place went down to the wire with Craig Homer just pipping Tom Barrett to 2nd Place.

D-Final Result
1. Ian Smith, Mini 8
2. Craig Homer, EMB-1
3. Tom Barrett, Mini 8
4. Jon Faull, GTB
5. Ben Kirkham, Mini 8

The C-Final went down to the 3rd final and Driver came away with the C-Final Win, after a 2nd win in Leg 3.

C-Final Result
1. Rob Driver, Mini 8
2. Ian Roberts, GTB
3. Dave Hall, GTB
4. Tony Stark, Mini 8
5. Tom Kirkham, Mini 8
6. Colin Kirkham, Mini 8

Dimelow won the B-Final after all 3 legs had a different winner. He beat Dave Richards on Fastest winners time to take the Final’s (that was only 4 seconds)

B-Final Result
1. Sam Dimelow, GTB
2. Dave Richards, GTB
3. Barry Hean, GTB
4. John Simblet, Mini 8
5. Ryan Langton, EMB-1
6. Andy Evans, EMB-1

The A Final also went to the last leg and was between Boyle and Wrigth. After the first 2 legs both drivers had a 1-2 each, but come the 3rd leg Wright had a 3M (Mini Marshalling Meltdown) which soon progressed to a 4M (Massive Mega Marshalling Meltdown) and finished a disappointing 5th place, whilst Boyle had a good consistant run to take the 3rd leg win and A-Final win. In 3rd overall was Jordaan. Whitehall finished 4th and looked somewhat disappointed. However his mood ‘apprently’ changed on his way home when KFC was mentioned.

A-Final Result
1. Darren Boyle, Mini 8
2. Michael Wright, GTB
3. Gary Jordaan, Mini 8
4. Jimmy Whitehall, Mini 8
5. Jamie Armitage, GTB
6. Bob Holloway, GTB

After 2 rounds the championship top 5 looks like Boyle and Wright Joint 1st, Armitage 3rd, Whitehall 4th and Dimelow 5th.
The JNR Championship currently stands at T Kirkham 1st, B Kirkham 2nd and Tom Barrett 3rd.

Hopefully we will see everyone plus a few more all on November the 16th.
