They did try an electric mx bike chris. It was very fast and light, but as you say, it never had that nice 2 or 4 stroke noise so it never took off (and it was bloody pricey). Motocross bikes sound cool though, especially off the line when there's 30 of them - I have to say Nitro buggies reallllly don't do it for me noise wise - they're more like Bee's rattling around in a tin - nowhere near as nice as the old 125, 250 and 500 2-stroke crossers - i still love that sound now!
