boost + motor timing?
If I want to use turbo/boost on my motor. Would it better if I set the motor timing to 0 (not software timing, physical motor timing), it could take full advantage across rpm range, including more torque at low rpm ?

It depends on the motor, most motors have a sweet spot or a recommended timing mark for running with and without boost. You are quite correct with your reasoning tho.

Always set your motor timing to 0 when you start to play with boost and turbo. Although the setting on the motor might not be true zero physically, any motor timing you leave on (what it reads on the 'dial' on the back of the motor) must be deducted from the boost you add on the speedo. HTH

Endbell timing + ESC boost timing + ESC turbo timing = total timing.
Total timing must not exceed 60 degrees or Kaboooom!  I set my endbell timing to 0 or low as the motor will allow and concentrate on ESC dynamic timing, it's more efficient, being applied in steps as the RPM rise. Boost start / end RPM be programmed (with 'safe' gearing) to give low end torque and High speeds. Best of both worlds!
