Yeah Racing DF-03 hopups - how blue !?
Ok, it will be a while until I review the Keen Hawk since its not out yet, but here are a few things I'll be throwing on it (or the Impact). These are amazing value hopups for the DF03 chassis from Yeah Racing in Hong Kong. I got some wheels for my Mini from YR a while back and thought -oooh thats good value for a pair of wheels, when they came they were in sets of 4 ! crazy value.
Anyway I'll be giving these a test after the Keen Hawk review I can see stuff like the wishbones being a bit heavy for the race track, but for bashing around or building the ultimate "blingpact" (tm) they sure are BLUE! Heres what I have from Yeah Racing DF03-034V2BU ALLOY SPOILER STAND 15 DEG. Might be good for overtaking... when you come up behind someone the metal causes them so much interference they just glitch and move out of the way.. like a sort of force field.... It might be interesting to weigh all the parts you have there and then compare it the the kit plastic parts.. you just need some good scales (not bathroom ones)... I use the ones in our goods inward dept at work.. but you could try taking them Tescos and dumping them on the scales in the veg section...

Steve, shame about that. does the stock one allow for a slipper?
I don't know that all these parts are really meant for the race track - the suspension arms are quite heavy and the rear shock tower really would not look out of place on an 8th scale. but for bashing (which is THE biggest market for the df03) I would guess these are good, and of course the bling factor. Other parts, like the drive cups, CVD's, centre shaft, steering, hubs etc etc, should be all good stuff - and they are seriously good value, almost disturbingly so! . |

some of the parts are for bashers, like the wishbones, hubs, towers, and the alloy steering isn't much of an improvement over the stock (I got the 3Racing one), but I am liking the alloy propshaft and UJ set. I know there are some now doing allouy bulkhead with carbon towers, which is nice.
After racing mine yesterday (and pissing off some 'fast' TC drivers with it....) I am convinced, with a little more thought, a carbon chassis would make the car awesome!!!

Not a fan of any blue alloy. The only decent part I can see is the battery hatch. Not just for heat dissipation, but also to lower the centre of gravity with the weight.

The car will end up looking like this...

I have been known to like my blue bits, that will look very fancy almost too fancy, if you rolled it you would cry, be scratched up bad on the shock towers... good luck driving it Jimmy!
I think it would be best to put it in a glass box, or get some sort of shock tower covers or you need to sort a bubble wrap cover to be fitted at all time |

Just needs an alloy chassis now!
You are right tho bathy, You'd cry when those shock towers experience some good ole concrete sliding. You can get all this stuff in raw colour aluminium which would of course stand up to scrutiny better once you start scraping the heck out of it. |
