Default Caster F18 any good?

I have been reading through some of the threads on this section and also on the dedicated Micro RC Forum and wondered why the Caster F18 is not very popular?

I know alot of people have mentioned the LRP Shark - which seems hard to find new or used, the FTX Blaze looks like a Shark and they are more easier to lay hands on but the Caster's spec list reads well - any thoughts?

Cheers, Mark

hi buddy im just getting in to the 1/18th scene got myself a rc18r,
anyway people do run the blaze and the shark as you can buy them as rollers new where as the rc18's are rtr i believe someone correct me if im wrong there.

the caster f18 looks to be a similar layout to the rc18 also found this on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caster-Rac...item588ed73ebe

good setup to start off with for the price but the only thing is getting the parts for it.

theres these rc18b copies

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/C02-RC-1-1...item2c5e933e1f

good price and all parts are the same as the rc18 too so wont struggle to get them

The Caster is a great little buggy that falls into the 1/18th Class it is readily available. as are the spares I keep a good supply of spares and option parts, I also have a National spec buggy to sell. The Blaze is now classed as 1/16th it is short wheel based The LRP Shark is 1/16th classed but is longer and wider than the Blaze it is a better buggy but not available new now so you will have to look for S/Hand, I have just sold mine. If I can be any more help please get in touch. Ashley

The standard Blaze / Shark buggy is 18th again, the Blaze / Shark ST / LWB is 16th - for the nationals at least

@gerbil how do you find they compare performance wise against the blaze etc?

Also I once had a mini inferno and was amazed how plasticy it was compared to my AE B4 and B44, the plastics used in th caster are they a high grade type or cheap and cheerful?

plastics are fine i had a kyosho mini inferno to and it was pant tbh
the caster seems very nicley built and handly well
as compared to the blaze imo can beat a shark st for driving
but if your going 18th scale caster all the way
