Default Change for next year

Hi all

Bit of a change for next year, the club will be rejoining the BRCA, I've not done this the last few years as most people who only race at club have not realy seen the need or wanted to spend the extra money and join, but next year the club will need to join.

Being a brca club will mean all members will need to join the brca, but thats no bad thing as it will mean we are insured and can all now fall down the rostrum steps

Sounds interesting Dave, I'm guessing some decent news came from the Regional AGM?!

I sent the following round to everyone in my email address book to let them know, if you didn't get a copy of the email please pm me your First and Surname and your email address and I'll add you to the clubs mailing list.

Morning Guys and Girls,

Apologies for it being a while since I was last in touch, the Christmas period has seen everything from home to work life become hectic, hence my minimal amount of posting and updating of the website.

For 2014 as I am sure some of you have seen on our oople thread, the Club is going to join the BRCA. This is basically the hobbies governing body and providing everyone is a member, covers us with third party liability insurance. The membership with the BRCA runs from the 1 January to 31 December and you will have to become a member if you wish to race. More information about the organisation and the insurance cover can be found on the BRCA website www.brca.org

We will also be chasing club membership fee's shortly, which in 2013 helped to pay for a new timing equipment, a refurbishment of the dirt track and full re-design including new pipe of the grass track and some decent steps for the rostrum, combined of course with help and time from the clubs members.

I also would like to note Dave (racingdwarf), our club chairman, post which again is on oople. This time about keeping in touch and informing people of the race meetings you may or may not be attending during the year. I know over winter the cold and wet weather can put people off racing outside, but please remember to say hi once in a while just so we try and avoid running a race meeting where only a couple of turn up.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas and merry new year and hope to see new and old faces trackside in 2014.

Regards,
Jonathan
