Default Batley Club information and such like?

I'm thinking about joining you guys for a race and some fun on the 8th Jan, but cant seem to find information about prices anywhere.

Could someone let me know how much it is for a non member to race for the day? Do you have a 540 class? Whats the surface I'd be racing on?

Many thanks

AC

Default Welcome to Batley

Hi AC,

The 8th will only be my second meeting there, however, I think the cost for a meeting was £7, you will need pin of spike tyres as its (very) slippery floor for 80% and carpet for some of the track. I run Schumacher Yellow Mini Spikes all round.

All cars are 540, although most are now running brushless, I honestly think you'd be as quick as anyone using a 27t Brushed. The only classes are 2wd and 4wd.

Transponders are available, or PT's can be used.

Hope that answers your questions. Anything else let me know.

Kind Regards,

Tristan

Race fees for club meetings are , £7 for visitors and £5 for members. There is also a further discount for youngsters under 13

Club membership is available for £8 annually, plus the usual BRCA licence fee if you do not hold one already.

The sports hall floor at Whitcliffe is the usual polished wood found in most sports centres. Area's of the track are carpeted, whilst some is left as is to provide a change of surface. Traction on the floor can be low for the first round or so, but improves once the cars have essentially cleared the dust off the racing line.
Some people do use Schumacher mini-pins in yellow compund, but personally I prefer to run Schumacher mini spikes (yellow). The majority of drivers seem to prefer the mini spikes, especially early on when the grip is a little lower.

As for race classes 2 and 4wd plus juniors is the split.

Motor wise you will be fine with pretty much anything you have, top speed is not all that important in the confines of a sports hall

Race meeting details are here http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67252

Lipo's are allowed at the club, but please abide by the policy that all should be charged in a suitable Li-po charge sack.
