Eugene definetly, me definitely, Tom at Worksop far as I know also Who ever asked about the carpet setup for ardent, start with something like 45 and 40 in the back and the usual setup you use and adjust round it works well Si moss has put a setup on the petite site for carpet works great it's using AE oil by the way and rear roll bar? The idea on carpet Is to get rid of as much grip as possible leaving it able to slip and hand brake round corners making it safer! Anything else????

hi mikey.
for taplpw, people are tending too use staggers on the front and most carpet setups, but i have gone a little thicker with the shock oil as they tend too have fairly large jumps and high grip carpet. what works well for me is mini spikes as opposed too the staggers, i have used pins at taplow before but i found them a bit too aggresive. just my ten pence worth.

Hi Mikey,
I ran, 35WT 5 Hole 4.5 Spring front 30WT 5 Hole 2.0 Spring rear with kit roll bar rear. No extra weight, Mini pins (yellow) rear and Mini spikes front (yellow) 6.5T Speed Passion motor on 23T/78T. Mid position on shock towers, 5° castor blocks, front bones reversed and 4° rear toe in block. Was good enough for a place in the B final. Cheers, James. |

How much weight?
How much weight are people running on their SV's?
I have ordered the 4 degree trishbits part and have the front under-servo weight, but havent managed to get it to feel right unless I add a load of weight under the rear of the lipo. (80g!) |

At the Euro's on clay I did run about 60g at the rear and saddle packs, as I found it settled the car and made it easier to drive. If I had more time to set the car up it may not have needed it. Adding weight tends to settle the car and make it easier to drive, which suits some people, whereas I like the car to be responsive which is best achieved with a light car.

Those setups are probably a start of the day setup and an end of day setup when the tyres had bedded in etc. Both work depending on newness of tyres, i prefer the anti roll bar on as it work well and you can throw it around alot more, alot more forgiving indeed! I ran 45 AE and 40AE when i last ran on carpet which is what Si ran on that setup

New cougar starting setup for carpet?
We just switch our track over to carpet. And as luck would have it im getting a Cougar tomorrow. Is the kit setup the best place to start for running on carpet? I understand you guys in the UK run a lot of carpet.. So i thought i would drop in here and get some advise.. as i hope to start my build tomorrow nite Below is a clip of our first race on rug. We had just finished a year of dirt racing. To give you an idea of what we run on. My first nite out was pretty good but i had so much rear grip i had a hard time keeping the front wheels on the ground. http://www.youtube.com/user/gonzales.../2/CAmN9XuqYS0 |

i noticed a 3ft slipper setting.. Is this to keep the nose down? That seems like a long time to slip.. Is it to take the bit out of the tires?

Its probably set for three feet to give the diff a break. I din't think your track needs any more than 1 foot. I had it loose also during practice and had to tighten it to get enough power down for the corner jump.
