Hi All,
Here is my setup from Kiddy. Clearly i've not done much testing with the car yet, but this seemed to be a really good starting point from which i will work from. Front Oil: 37.5 Piston: Associated 2 Piston Spring: Big Bore Losi Green Shock Position: Inside on the wishbone Second hole on the tower Camber Link: Inside on the tower Shortest link on the Hub 2mm under the bump steer washer position Brass bulkhead Rear Oil: 30 Piston: Associated 1 Piston Spring: Big Bore Losi Pink Shock Position: Inside on wishbone Middle on tower Camber Link: Second from top on the longest (inside) hole Middle on the standard 0 degree rear hubs (turned around the make the camber link a bit straighter) Short Wheelbase 4 degree's antisquat 3.5 degree's toe in Motor: Tekin 7.5 Speedo: Tekin RS Pro Gearing: 26/81 I think that's about it. Anymore questions, then please ask either by PM or in here.

That's pritty stiff isn't it...what were you running in c4.1 compared to this?
This is a wet setup also wasn't ran in the dry at all but shouldn't make too much difference. What did you think compared to the c4.1 mate? Gaz

Na, i dont think it was that stiff to be honest. Its pretty normal to be fair compred to the centro. I actually ran the same setup for both, not by choice as it started raining when i was out but i dont think i would change much as it was if anything better in the wet than it was in the dry. Compared to the centro i thought it was much easier. It was more consistant, i guess its due to the wheelbase, as its 14mm longer than the standard car. The chassis is stiff and doesnt flex so im thinking that this mean any mechanical changes are direct and doesnt get nunified by the twist in the chassis. Now ive only used it on one track but i really liked it. We've already go some things i'd like to try but nothing thats special, i guess thats just the normal process of trying new things out. Danny

I was using yellow rears when it was dry with slim staggers on the front. As soon as it got wet i put on green ballistics, 2wd fronts. No rows off any of the tyres.

My B4.5 is getting kind of tired and I don't want to spring for a completely new kit since I know once I do, a B5 is around the corner. (A friend is an Engineer at AE) and its likely something could be coming soon.
(I got burned when I finally got a screaming deal on a NIB 44.1 and 3wks later the 44.2 was released!!! ) Have had my eye on a Vega, just because its different. Curious if anyone has any comparisons between it and the X-Factory car? They run with some success N of me here in the US, but again, I mainly contend with Kyosho, AE, Losi, Team C, Tamiya and Durango. I just want to try something that no one else runs. Though it will give me a disadvantage with little US support, but perhaps the brethren would be able to enlighten me about setups. I race primarily on indoor clay track with high traction with my 17.5 2wd buggy. I know most of you folk are astro and carpet, but does ANY clay/Dirt tracks exist? MOmo |

No new updates?
No one has posted it, but i was wondering if anyone uses the JCo or AE steering rack upgrade? Wasn't sure if it fit in the car or not, but since the front is mainly AE, I thought it might transfer easily. Also, (since the only Mid cars i have seen run here are the losi 22 and the Xfactory cars..., does anyone know if similar setups from Xfactory transfer to the Vega?) Has anyone ran both and how do they compare? I REALLY REALLY want to get one soon, but being a fish out of water when it comes to this car and this type of configuration for indoor Blue Groove Clay tracks. I know several racers up N who run the X-factory car and I considered borrowing some of their setup ideas if it will help move me in the right direction. MOmo |

I'm using the avid steering rack on my car as are a few other vega drivers, great addition to the car. As to it being used in dirt no reason why not if the X6 works.
In the uk we are on high grip astro and carpet etc, have a look at some set ups on petit Rc and maybe some dirt set up there? Or use the B4 dirt set up and tune from there?? |

Yeah I agree. My base set-up last year for outdoor astro tracks was identical to the X-6 astro base set-up on their site.... so X-6 dirt setup would have to be a good place to start. I think i have seen on here somewhere that a couple of guys used the Vega RB5 on dirt at the Euro's a couple of years ago and worked ok??
