Value for Money 2wd Buggy
After taking some time out from buggy racing this last year I am looking around for a value for money 2wf buggy to buy, to race at club meetings.
I am not really interested in some of the conversions out there, as they tend to push the cost of the car/kit up quite a bit. I guess this narrows down the choice a bit. Previously I did have an X6 sq which was fantastic, strong, reliable, but I just fancy some of the newer narrower designs out there. It must also be mid motor. Any recommendations? I think there is only the cougar sv2 and Durango which fit the bill... Pro's cons of both please!

Ansmann X2C/TeamC TC02C are undoubtedly good value & at least £60 cheaper than the 210 at around £135. I think the TC02C has the stronger spur/idlers included whereas the X2C ideally requires at least upgraded idlers.
TLR22 is also a tough buggy. Depends on what others around you race, unless you're going to be totally self sufficient it's handy to have other racers to borrow/buy bits from if required trackside.

I run an associated B4.1, which is excellent, as anyone whos run one will say. convertible to mid motor later on.
otherwise the ansmann X2 pro kit is very good value and really cheap spares. MB models are doing them now: http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...x2-ar-kit.html They are really good spec, unbeatable for a new kit for the money.

the Ansmann X2C is the best value 2wd out there. So easy to drive, and every bit as quick as the more expensive kits and conversions.
Spares are also pretty cheap.

+1 for the Team C TC02C, super nice to drive and spares as cheap as chips. Spring sets are £5 for a car set you can't go wrong. Get a Mad Monkey chassis and you can run stick packs just like an X6. Love mine.

Mark I went for the 210 as I think it's better value than the x2c. A little higher initial price but if you want to change setup on the x2c you need to buy parts (caster blocks, rear toe and anti squat.
The 210 has all of this adjustment in the kit. The spare parts are no more expensive than the ansmann either. I haven't broken anything on my car yet and the only hop ups I've bought are springs and ceramic Diff balls |

Cheers Ben, thanks for the advice. I had thought about the Ansmann, but had read about poor plastics etc, don't know if this is actually true, but it seemed a common problem anyway.
I think the Durango was the one I was going to go for anyway, but cheers all the same. Regards, Mark
