Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you need to use the correct distributor, eg send it back to the USA. The only other thing I could think of is maybe trying to get the US distributor and LRP themselves to agree for you to send it back to LRP direct, which I think is Germany?

Also, while this potentially opens up an old can of worms on here, I think you also need the receipt, not just the blue card...

If it's under warrenty they should cover the postal costs for you I would think but you will most likely have to send it back over the pond to the distributor there or where you got it from unless you can come to anysort of agreement with them to send it to the uk distributor (spire model distribution) if you can do that I'm not sure

Are you sure the blue warranty card belongs to the motor or was the motor part of a combo?
The warranty cards were usually only included with the speedos...

The motors don't have the warranty. The blue card only covers the speedo.

What's wrong with it? If it is overheating you can check whether you are running a sintered rotor and change it if not or if you are having trouble with the sensors try cleaning the electronics at the bottom of the can once you have the rotor out with a cotton bud and motor cleaner.

If it has desoldered due to overheating you can clean out the solder and resolder the winding packets with lead-free solder and a HOT(!) big tip soldering iron.

Otherwise bin it

How new is it? If it's quite new the shop themselves may be liable regadless of LRP warranty, you'd have to show it's not misuse though?

In a sane customer service led world of course you should be able to send it to SMD, but at a guess the issue is with LRP rather than SMD with that, eg LRP wouldn't reimburse SMD the cost or something?

Motors, if the rotor goes, thats fair enough, but anything else, if you have overheated the motor, over geared and burnt out the phases etc, why should LRP put their hands in their pockets and give a replacement (and I am in no way saying that you have).

ESC's are far easier to determine what has happened, and whether it is a warranty claim, or whether it is user abuse, thus your responsibility to pay for the repair, motors are just something that, in general, fails due to abuse rather than a manufacturing fault.

As for the receipt, you could have a LRP warranty card from any esc, the reason for the receipt, is to tie up the card to the purchase.
