SV or SV2 for club racing
Just wondering if there is really much difference between the two for club racing?
My son has been racing for a few months and running an old sv that has been reliable and seems like a great car to start with. I haven't raced for around 20 years, but now my son is continuing, I'm going to start again. Only club racing and odd regional. Is there really going to be much difference between sv and sv2 for a club racer, faster, easier to setup, stronger etc. I'm guessing most of the sv's would need more parts replacing to make them decent, so maybe not that much difference in price. Thanks |

The SV2 is certainly a more reliable car, but as you say you are only going to be doing club meetings. Price wise there won't be much in it so for the extra few pounds the SV2 may be worth getting.

If your buying new, SV2, if your buying used, then you would have to look at the spec of the SV to the SV2. If you go used, then I would recommend buying the SVR front wishbones (wider stance), SVR upper front bulkhead (stronger) and anything to make the car solid.

Just my opinion as everyones driving style is different but i really don't like the svr front wishbones on the sv2, i found they made the car very wandery(is that even a word?) where as the kit ones are much more planted, svr upper bulkhead is a very good upgrade though
Has anyone tried the new S1 chassis yet on wet slippery astro?
