Default My YZ10 project

Thought I'd post a pic of my YZ10 I've slowly been working on. This very chassis was raced in the 95 Worlds A-Main by Scott Brown. So far all I've done is add some front wheels and B4 team shocks to it. I plan on getting a TBG body for it and then attempt to find the slipper parts it is missing.

Default Hi

Ron that looks promising!

You seem to have a pavidis chassis.

You may also have the team Suzuki wheel hubs!

I hope it turns out great! I'm rebuilding my yz 10 '94 and I think I have two of them. I need a few bits...especially the front and rear wishbones!

Anyhow , good luck

I'll have to check that out. The car I have belonged to former Losi driver Scott Brown. He made the A-main with this car at the 95 Worlds.

Very cool car to own.... I own a YZ-10 that I believe may have been run at the Worlds two years previous - but I don't know who raced it or where it finished... so its especially cool that you know that it was Scott's car & that it actually reached the A final!

Scott with your car, 4th from the left

Incidentally, on the day that you posted up this thread so another member posted up some pictures of the YZ-10 he owns that belonged to Brian Kinwald & took TQ (far left) over on RC10Talk; http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=26564

Keep us informed as to how your re-build restoration goes - it would be cool to see if you get in contact with Scott himself & get some more insight into this car - would be great to re-produce his colour scheme for the shell

DerbyDan, I've known Scott for about 10-11 years now as I used to race at the track he owns. As far as I know, he still has the body for it.

Been a while since I posted an update on this car, so here's some more recent pics. I found some NIP rear wheels and Team Suzuki hubs. Car already had the Team Suzuki hubs, but was missing one of the nuts. Brought the car down to Scott a couple of weeks ago and listened to him tell stories about the 1995 Worlds while he was looking the car over.

Having a real difficult time finding a slipper for it. Tried using the slipper from my brother's MX4, but no go on that one.

The MX4 slipper is a lot rarer than a fitting slipper your YZ-10 as it happens.

Which parts do you miss?

PM cobra on here he does under trays, body shells, wings and he still runs the car so may be able to help with the missing slipper parts.

Mr. Ed, I'm essentially missing everything on the shaft except the one-way pulley that the front belt rides on. Here's a picture of the shaft.

Ralphee and Tyreman, thanks for the leads on parts. I'll have to look into that.

Should all else fail: I've got all the parts from a YR-4 kit, still packed. The YR-4 doesn't use a slipper but the drive parts are perfectly compatible.

Ralphee, if anything comes up definitely do let me know. I'd love to get this thing completed.

Mr. Ed, do you have a part number for the YR-4 kit you're referring to? Wondering if I can find an image of it online.

I'm probably racing at Scott's track this weekend. Going to ask him if I can borrow the body he ran at the Worlds and take some pics.

By Yr-4 kit I basically meant the YR-4 car. It came as a kit, not RTR or built roller.

The Yr-4 didn't have a one-way center pulley but a simple plastic pulley, and for the rear the pulley and spur are combined in one part. There's no slipper.

Made a little more progress. Purchased ZR-641M and fitted it to the car this past weekend.
