RB5 VEGA, anyone still running it???
Hi Guys
Just wondered if anyone out there was still running the RB 5 Vega? I brought mine out of retirement last night & ran it at RHR, & have to say it was awesome! I was over a second a lap faster with it than my RB6 on the same tyres etc. mines the version 1 Vega with a WC RB5 front end. I'm very tempted to get the version 2 LWB to try now. |

Yup, Gen 2 and love it.... Nice to drive and the set up seems to work well at all tracks.

Hi Andy
Never tried mine with small bores, might try them next time out then. Yeah might try & get hold of the lwb chassis deffo would like to try one. As for my back, not really still off work. Had to go to the doctors yesterday for more pain killers. Fed up with it now! Lol. Fingers crossed I'll be up to coming to your place on Saturday. Marshaling might be a challenge though! Lol |

I use traxxas part number 3768, with this you get x2 shock retainers these will be tight but do fit very well on the kyosho shock adjuster, x2 shock cups and (x2 pistons which you wont use). they around 2.99 and you will need x2 packs for the 4 shocks. Hope this helps.

running the gen2 lwb rb5 with small bores, small bores are much much more reactive than the big bores. did lots of testing with the big bores and haven't used them since. no new buggy out there i'd bother getting, rb5 works for me!

Yes I still use the RB5 Vega
The best 2wd I've had. Recently put a long chassis on and it , and it made a huge difference for me It became much easier to drive fast. The kyosho parts are excellent and tough I recently added some front droop by cutting down a pred ball end until it had droop like a b4 etc ( for some reason it was wishbones level As standard kyosho.Maybe I used the wrong bottoms originally) It was much better to drive with more front end

Hi Rebel
I had the same trouble when I built the DB1 droop wise. Turns out I needed the SP2 front shock tower not the WC. Made a massive difference. Best order one if I'm going to try small bores. |

Holy Thread Bump Batman !!
Fair play though, they are still good buggies on certain tracks, glad you are still doing well with yours... i also still use my TRF Vega for clubnights when we have a slippy-ish track laid. Id have a RB5 Vega as well if i could find one that people wernt asking the earth for |
