hey guys, I run on a hard packed indoor clay track and have been running the DS chassis with some good results but find its a bit lazy. The tracks a decent size but technical and have been curious about trying the stock chassis with the DS plate in the rear....has anyone tried this?
The general consensus here in the states is that the DS is very stable for our surfaces but some are reporting laziness as well. I have a spare stock chassis and was wondering if anyone has tried what Ive mentioned.

Hi Tony,
Most guys in the Uk run the +8mm chassis and I've tried the DS spec chassis in +8mm form and found it perfect for extra traction without losing the general positive nature of the Cougar. It's perfect for running in the wet on astro turf. Regards, James. Quote:

I can also set my rebound easier with cut bladders so Im just wondering if I should go back to them. They do feel a bit more consistent...and does running cut bladders require a heavier oil as opposed to what would normally be run using bladders?

I much prefer mine with the cut bladders, can't explain why but it gave me more grip, even on carpet! I know this because I cut them in between heats. I kept the oil the same (45 front, 35 rear) The rebound, like you say, is much more reliable when the bladders are cut.
Can't say about the +8 or DS spec because haven't tried either yet

The cut bladders do feel pretty good but the squish at the top of the stroke annoys me. lol any one notice that? they do feel smoother with bladders.

are the plastics of S1 Race car, different from Pro spec car?
i know about the carbons are something like kevlar but how about the plastics? are they the same? and another question how about the durability of the arms how to do they react to low temperatures eg zero celcius do they brake under low temperatures? do they need any boiling or something? |

Gearing...
Yes, these cars are still about!
I've just finished building up a standard S1 spec SV from all the old parts I had lying around, for my 5yr old Son to use as a step up from his/my old Hornet. It's running an Ansmann Sirius 12 ESC and the standard Ansmann Clash brushed motor. Any ideas what gearing to use? |

Hey I'm looking for a set up for my sv to run on an indoor carpet track with foam tyres and a high grip tight track.
I raced with it a couple years ago and I would always get grip roll and everything I tried it would not help?... Thanks Doug
