partly the reason I sold mine. Sick of replacing belts at £7.99 a pop. the rear one on the sx2 was a total slag to replace also!

lol. Well said Big-G.
Last time I replaced the reaar belt I had this amazing brainwave, and thought "ha ha! instead of taking out all the layshaft and pulleys, I'll just cut the old belt!" So I did, and that worked perfectly, absolutely easy to take out the old belt. What a genius I am..... ...except I forgot that I still needed to fit the new belt. Arse. |

the old belt usually ejected from the car anyway when not running diff covers like I did indoors lol.
Like Trish has done with the sx3. a removable cap would release the top layshaft making rear belts a 2 min job. I did intend to do this on my sx2, but parted with the car before it happened. |

Never had an issue with the belts in 18 months with my original phil booth SX

This has got me wondering if part of the belts problem is bad fitting/placement on the part of the owner? If you two guys have had 18 months with no belts and 2 years with only 3 belts replaced you are doing smoething different (and possibly better!)
Likely to get flamed here, but just thinking out loud How often, and in what conditions, did your cars get actually used in that 18 months and 2 years? I reckon Im using my car more than most on here. Im practising with my car almost every day at least once a day (sometimes 2 or 3 times!).... and not a nice indoor safe carpet, but outdoors (gravel, tarmac, grass track) and all my races are again outdoors on dirt with some big jumps (its a 1.8th nitro track!!) Time the car has run without belt changes isnt really the issue, its how much the car has been used (abused). Im not trying to poke sticks, genuinely want to see if I can protect the belts better and maintain my car better. |

I use my Cat sx 2 every weekend on grass track with big jumps and a lot of bumps and
i change the belt's maybe one time the year. I sink its important to don't overstretch them. The B44 drivers have to change also some parts in the gear. I sink sx 2 is still a good car. |

Good thing to say on a public forum for a team that supported you for 12 months. When you brake your B44 and leave them should we wait for a simliar post to arrive about that?
I have had very few issues with the belts personally on my Cat SX3. The problem should be sorted very shortly. Applying glue as Carl has said may help, something I havent tried tho but cant do any harm. Si

I did think that was coming from a previous team driver...
Ok cheers Simon and Carl. Will see what damage I can cause with teh glue - lol! My biggest problem at the moment isn't the car it's the ESC/motor combo - Car when it wasn't having heat issues was very good. |

3 weeks more like 3 months and 4 nationals in I don't think so! Any company who bring a car out half way through a season is crazy! And I can't see why things are not fully tested before the car is first released as everyone else thinks! And I buy a new car when ever I want as I'm a clean freak ;0) The b44 finishes races unless the wheel nuts are not tightened up whoops! And to add to mr moss's comment, if the b44 doesn't finish a race it is normally due to the driving not the FAILURE of the car it's self!

Lets not turn this into another brand bashing thread. But I will say this about Schumacher. I don't know anyone that has spoken to Cavaleri or Kinwald for advice with their cars, but I have had a chance to communicate with Moss and Cockeril both on the forum and by phone for advice....and the built quality is flawless. For the hobbyist that I am this is priceless. Enjoy your Thunder tiger...oops I mean Associated cars, and remember not to burn any bridges in the future, you might need to use them again one day.

I have just got my SX3 i've run it for about 5 meets and towards the end of the day this sunday at torch I really felt like the car was becoming mine, I've come to my SX3 from a B44 and There is no comparison. The Cat feels stable, sure footed and confident. Getting my boy one now becaues I don't think that he should be held back by the B44,
Cat all the way. Oh and it is metric.
