Default Work party HELP DESPERATELY NEEDED

The work is still ongoing at the new Silverstone track. The land has been shaped with JCB and mini digger, but we now DESPERATELY NEED MANPOWER to help roll out the astroturf. Work parties are required for the next 3 Saturdays, from 9.00 am, in order to get it ready for the next 4wd Regional, so come on you racers, lend us a hand!

Default more images of Silverstone track

As you can see, the track shape is finished and should be very interesting to race on, with a HUGE wall ride, banked curve at the end of the straight up onto another level, triple motocross style jump and double tabletop, to mention just a few features. But don't forget, work party HELP NEEDED next three Saturdays, 31st May,7th June, 14th June, 9.00 am onwards, AND the next 2 Thursday evenings, 29th May, 5th June, from 6.00pm onwards. We need at least 10 people to unroll those VERY HEAVY rolls of astroturf, it's no good thinking "someone else will do it" !!! It's your sport, your track, your regional, so PLEASE HELP. For more info and directions email me at ggs58@btinternet.com. Thanks. 26 May 006.jpg 26 May 005.jpg

We've found that if we have between 4 & 8 blokes on site we can cut 8x4 sheets from each roll and move them quite easily!! Had another couple of hours working on the track last night, finished the main straight and the banked corner at the end! Having the land drain's put in over the next couple of days and when the weather clears a bit we will finish shaping the jumps and cover them with the astro turf too!

Default work party at Silverstone

No real work party today (Saturday 31st) as most helpers away at National, so just planning/land drainage and minor work. Have found that we can get more people on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm, so working the next three Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and the next 3 Saturdays. All help gratefully received.

Default No work party this Saturday

No work party this Saturday 7th as most of the regulars can't make it. We got loads done on Thursday evening thanks to all the regular helpers and the local farmer with his Manitou ( a huge agricultural forklift ) and despite all the rain we've had flooding parts of the track. More land drains going in Monday, I will take some more photos then. We have astroturf covering the wall ride and the jumps now, along with the main straight. The next work party will be hopefully Tuesday evening from 6.00, and definately Thursday from 6.00pm.

And some more!!
There's a shot looking down the main straight which is 43'ft long!
A shot of the triple jumps, a shot looking at the small single jump before the sweeper onto the main straight and another of the wall ride looking up from the bottom. But the picture doesnt do it justice! It's much bigger than it looks!!!
