Due to the off week in racing because of easter, I gave the cat a good once over and noticed something. The steerind bell has alot of play due to the "ball cup brace". Is there any other option to replace that double ball cup brace or do I have to make one myself.

Replace the original grey ballcups with the black ones of Mi4 (U3500)
the have a lot less play.Check on dusty tracks for free movement.
you can also apply some light threadlock to the bearings of the steering,as the bearings can have some play in the steering arm.

Is ca the only option for glueing tires? Ca seems to become loose after a couple of runs. I remember that shoe goo was also used but in 1/8 scale, can shoe goo be used in 1/10 or is there a better alternative?

CA should be fine - are you using good thin glue?

I'm using proline medium, only because I think the thin runs off too fast

Are you cleaning the tyre before you put it on the wheel? Motor cleaner cleans alot of the release agent off which helps the glue stick to the tyre.

I didn't think about the release agent being a problem, I'll give it a try. Got to get my act together if I'm going to show face at the race in june.

Moth, If my wife wouldt let me play with my toys, I would start playing with her girlfriends instead.

Have just read all the replys in your threads and have learned a lot. Thank you for asking the things I wanted to also.

Got a question of my own. Am in the process of building mine and I am waiting for all my purple parts to come back re-anodized red! Get it..Mr Red....yeah you get it.

Can a servosaver be used??? First car I have ever built without one

Default servo saver

Yep you can use one as i have one in mine, all depends on what servo you run etc, you may find that you have clearance problems with your saver and the body and undertray, you can either a- cut a hole in the body and tray ( i tried this first with mine but no good for outdoors) or b- shorten the servo mounting posts by 3-5 mm or until the servo sits right up to the lipo, this should give you enough clearance on your saver side, there is no real science to this just use a file you will know when it looks right

Okey. thanks!

Have not reached that step yet cuz the parts will arrive tomorrow. Got a Futaba s9551 that is meant to sit in the Cougar and a BLS451 in the cat. Maybe it should be the other way around then? If it is easier to make it work?

I'm glad my inexperience has helped you Mr. Red

I was told that a servo save can fit but you would have to install a low profile servo to keep the steering geometry as straight as posible. On the advice of others I'm using a core aluminium servo arm on the third hole (it has four) and don't have any promlems. The thing with standard servo horns is that they are to thick and hit the body. The servo arms needed for the cat is inverted towards the servo so even if you can stuff a servosaver and standard size servo it might affect the steering. Buy a strong servo with metal gears, add on the core servo arm and you'll be fine. Here's the link:http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Manufa..._RC/CR110.html

It gives you something more to anodize red....Mr. Red

P.S.Don't forget to get the Mi4 ball cups to reduce slop in the steering.

Does anyone know if the big bore shocks will fit with the rear shock conversion, or are we going to need a conversion for the conversion

I would imagine fine as the sx2 rear wishbones have the mounting holes for both front or back.

I am back to shocks on the front and loving it. Big bores on the front for my track. As for other tracks, who knows

I'm not worried about how they work, I'm worried that the extention on the rear shock stay won't be long enough. Actually I'm pretty sure they won't fit with what's there now.

Great success at the races today....Qualified third and finished second!!! In only my forth race. The cat was purrrrring all day long. I'm running Clint's setup for bumpy tracks and let me tell you it was smooooooth. I still didn't have enough on throtle steering, thats until I changed to 3mm anti-squat up from 2mm. The cat just hooked up and took off, its incredible how such a small change can make that much of a difference.

The only problem I'm still having is with the rear drive shafts popping out every now and then, thats only when I crash and cartwheel mind you but it still happens. Any ideas?
