I have seen this car go at the Belgium gp and drove one of the early prototypes and I have to say that orb has developed an excellent car
one question a would like to ask is as you don't see that much Durango around in the uk anyway have you thought about making your own gearbox housings or reducing the amount of doner vehicle parts so you can supply a complete kit.

it's almost always cheaper to buy then to build. Running dex210 parts makes it easy to get replacements internationally as well.

Currently I can't yet promise a release date, but the aim is to release it this summer. As soon as a release date is announced, the pre-orders will open too. As for using less DEX210 parts - it's difficult to do that, I've already made so many things custom for this car! I'm also aware that Durango's reputation has past its glory days, but the gearbox design has many performance advantages for this car. And surely there must be loads of second hand DEX210s hidden from view, it used to be a pretty popular car but second hand demand for them seems to be low - it's a great source for spares or even donor vehicles. Very interesting car. I look forward to it's release.
A couple questions. How is rear camber adjusted? What wheels are used front/rear? It'd be really nice it if used 12mm hex wheels all around as to not limit people into using the Durango wheels. The white parts look great IMO.

Re- the camber: Camber is built into the rear axle carriers (see last picture in this post) - adjusting it can be done by swapping to blocks with another angle or swapping blocks between left and right (to reverse the camber angle in the blocks). Note that the ride height of the car influences the amount of camber too because of the angle of the hinge pin on the chassis. Re- the wheels, it will be possible to run 12mm hex wheels. Myself I also use 12mm hex wheels, so I already have the solution: With the front axles from the Associated B5/B5M it is possible to run 12mm hex on the rear - 12mm hex on the front can be run with various types - I use B5 hexes up front with a 1mm spacer between the hex and bearing: Last edited by Origineelreclamebord; 21-05-2015 at 01:52 PM. |

It might be possible with the addition of some parts, but unfortunately I think it may not be practical as not all required parts are compatible. The following parts from the DEST210R cannot be re-used (which are required):
- Driveshafts (Too long). - Axles (Wrong offset for buggy rims). - Shocks (Too long). - Turnbuckles (Too long). - Rear shock tower (wrong geometry). |

I see it's been a while since I posted anything here... wow. Well, plenty of news then!
A. The pre-production car has proven to work well both performance- and durability-wise. B. I've got a bodyshell for the car now - photos due soon, in the meantime, here's the render of what it looks like: C. I'm busy working on the manual - it's a $(*@!-load of work, but a good manual is invaluable to the joy of the build and ownership D. An upcoming edition of RRCi magazine will feature an article about the car. E. We (ORB Racing) are currently organizing all things necessary for the product release. For the rest of the world: Last Sunday, Elvo beat me in the 3rd round of the MAC Vlijmen Winter Championship and he is referring to my car as a 'pikdorser' (combine harvester) I'm more than happy with 'harvesting' second place though! |

The car is usable both in 3- and in 4-gear 4-Gear is best suited for low-bite to increae traction, 3-Gear is better on astroturf (it stays flatter through corners, particularly off-power it's more predictable).
PS: I was using 4-gear most of the time, but until I started the instruction manual I had not noticed my ESC was set in 'reverse rotation mode,' which I compensated by putting the motor plate on the other side |

What is the weight distribution on the front axle and the rear axle? And does variations on the different surfaces?
