Seems alright. If its got a turbo function (which it claims it has) this can be switched on with the 10.5t motor to give the car 7.5t motor speed when you want it.
I've not seen a lot of ORCA's but I've not heard much bad about them either.

ORCA STUFF IS WICKED!
I had an Orca 8.5 in my B4/Losi 22 and it never missed a beat, I changed to LRP when i got my Durango just because of space issues. I'm going to get another 2WD soon, I would not hesitate to get ORCA again! |

For starting out the orca stuff will be ok, but as you progress and become faster it's not idea as doesn't have the same spec as quality speedo or motor
I've just got a tekin rs pro and you can clearly see why it has the £200 pricetag it comes with! |

In any case, that Orca can perform just as well as any other esc. More expensive ones have more features, most of which you don't need, and can handle lower turn motors, which isn't required either. The right driver could easily win our 2wd A final with a Q-Spark and suffer no ill effects over running a RS Pro. You just have a thing for shiny bits that don't actually work well......

Play fair Si, the rs pro is a very good speedo. Wouldn't be so popular if it didn't 'work well'

So clearly the RS isn't better than the Pearl, meaning there was no need to get one, and no need to spout about it on here either.

There arnt much cooling aids on those tekins either no fan or heat sink

Thats OK, they aren't really needed by the Durango boys since their wheels have normally fallen off long before they get to overheat.....

I can already see the rs pro is goin to be a better speedo for my requirements, it has so many more useful features than the pearl did.

Punch, brakes, drag brake.
The only settings anyone other than a worlds A finalist will ever need. Once set up, forever left alone as far as I'm concerned! Does the shaft spin the same direction as the motor in the dingdango? http://oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75332

Tbh there are alot of useful functions a club racer would use, tweaking throttle profiles, high rpm adjustable timing for power on straights, so many little bits I've not read them all yet. |

Yes, because the owner said he prefers his LRP!
Anyway, my GM Genius has all those options, and a lot more besides. Too many actually as the whole thing is pretty incomprehensible! Normally I find that with so many parameters, its actually easier to muck things up than it is to improve - but on the GM, the Tekin and most other PC link esc's there are lots of profiles written by people who know a lot more about this stuff you can simply download. Thats what I'm using in my GM - somebody elses profile that suits my needs. All other changes I can make from the transmitter. Oh, and don't go messing with the high rpm timing. Its why I use 10.5t's - anything much hotter and it will kill them.

Like many kit choices it's a personal preference with ESCs. I quite like my Castle MMP in my SCTE, it's got bags of punch and brakes with the 4-pole 550 motor. It really highlights how my HPI Flux system (an older castle sidewinder rebranded) doesnt have enough brakes. That may even be more down to the 4-pole characteristics than the ESC.
This all said, while ideal for me, there's not gonna be many people wanting a MMP in a buggy, mainly because it's physically huge.
