It's actually about 1700 out the box and depending on the electrics/tyres, it looks light but there's a fair bit of weight in the chassis.

I am really enjoying my TM4. I would say you do need to have the new machined ring and pinion and new cvd for the front gearbox. Apart from that I have not broken anything else on the car. For diff oils I am now running 7k in front and rear instead of 7k front and 3k rear but I know people are liking 10k all round.

Thanks for the response.
Weird that the front diff goes and not the rear where most of strain is. Why do you need to get another centre driveshaft together with the machined gears? |

The new gear has an out shaft through the gear box and collar the drive shaft attaches to, where as the old gear fitted over the driveshaft end and was secured with a hex screw?
I went from 5000 front and 2000 rear to 7000 and 5000 this weekend at Kiddy, changed the handling quite a lot, small changes to set up really do show up with this car.

Great to hear the TM4 performs well!
I'd just like to know if the XB4 wheels do really fit, offset-wise? Because the stock white wheels are painful to look at....and i don't like the Durango ones. Greets, Ron. |

I ran 7k front 3k rear at Kiddy and the car felt very stable, easy to drive and a lot less tail happy than the Durango I ran last year.
No problems so far with gears. So far I've only moved the Ackerman link forwards which seemed to smooth out the steering and made it pivot less in the corners. More testing at RHR this weekend!

Were any of those wheels the new xray v2 front wheels with an extra 1mm offset? That would add an extra 2mm overall width to the front. Hopefully it would still fit in the box. I had that dilemma yesterday when purchasing some wheels but decided not to get the new wheels until I could check how far I was from the side of the box.

its not the wheels that were close to not fitting in the box but the end of the axels, the wheels were a good 5-10mm inside that

Grant the wheels were the older version but as Bigred says had to dremel the front axels on both TM2 and TM4!

Hi all
Im thinking about getting one of these as I have been doing a lot of crown and pinions in the BMAX4 ii when using it as a 2wd on high grip. Has anyone been running it as a 2wd? I only ask as I have been using the BM as 2wd and it works really well arapt from the diff Thoughts? How are you all liking it on astro? Anyone tried it on the loose stuff? |
