I don't know which version of the Turbo it was (54 plated) and although I'd pull away from it on the straight sections they carry so much more corner speed. Now it may just be that I ride like a girl but speeds varied between 60 & 120 mph so we weren't exactly hanging around.

The car:
-raised in the back

-tinted sidewindows (film)
-4x brakelights
-curvelights
-a fox tail on the antenna not much later...

The 80s guy:
-permanent (curls) & stripes, "hockey style" haircut
-Hollies sand blown leather jacket
-acid washed jeans, way too short & very tight
-white socks with red & blue stripes
-moccasins / "indian slippers"
-RayBan Round Metals sunglasses. Later Opel sunglasses to top it all off...

Ah, Colin Brennans old 100quid Rover 418Tdi had comedy low speed oversteer. We were lost in France, taking our time to read road signs and suddenly driving completely sideways at a silly low speed.

It was ace!

Yamaha RD500LC - someone after my own heart, well almost, I had a Suzuki RG500 and loved it. If they made a new version with modern suspension & wheels I'd have to get one, absolutely mental. Rev counter started at 3 000rpm, bugger all below 7 000 rpm, but hit 7 500 and it was like lighting the blue touch paper on a firework

I have had 4 RG500's and about 5 RG400's, also a RGV250M with a 500 motor, all awesome but extremely expensive to run and repair.
