At risk of jinxing my car, I've now done five meetings including Worksop and lots of carpet running and haven't broken a single thing. As Jimmy says, if the slipper is used appropriately it'll protect the tranny and not adversely affect the driving experience. Mine gets better every time I take it out. I'm sure I will break it at some point but so far it's been faultless and fast.

I always start to lose and than go stiffer . my slipper works almost always when I jank the throthel after a turn for at least 50 cm just to save the drive train . and that is on all my cars and on al serfaces lol

Ran my xb4 for first time today at Chadderton. Was panicking at first as I left all my spares in Glasgow!
Very impressed with it and managed to put it in the B Final. Needs lighter damping but apart from that it was great. Also, never broke a thing all day. Great car. Dave

Just wondering if anyone has had the diff outdrives snap, app were the drive shaft slots in,on full compretion the drive shaft is hitting the outdrive and snapping them, they say they were running the rubber stops on the outside of the shock shafts, might be worth looking at and putting two on or some plastic washers instead of the rubber

diffs and shocks
I know some people have had issues with the shocks leaking but what about the diffs?
After 1 and a half meetings my diffs have completly emptied. I have rebuilt them with new gaskets and re-greased the o-rings. As i did when new. Anyone else had this problem?

Ran car at Chadderton yesterday again. Car keeps getting better but shocks still leaking. We tried building them with Losi 22 o-rings in the caps but still leaked. May also be leaking from bleeder screw hole too.
Haven't checked the diffs yet but they seemed okay. Overall quite happy with the car so far.

Mine were tight believe me. They have leaked each time. As for the cleeder screws they were not over tightened.
Built loads of shocks etc in my time and never have any issues. I like the car and want it to work but its a bit annoying.

how are we all getting on with the upgread kit?

fine, despite the ugly front shock brace looks. I recently replaced my kit front bulkhead after finally breaking it. I wondered if anyone has broken the uprated part? I've got a spare, but wondered if the issue was now gone?
I've read that on US style tracks, now they have the rear brace, they are breaking rear hubs, but yet to do one myself. Might be worthwhile carrying a spare, as I have.

I have the upgrade kit fitted after breaking my original front bulkhead. No other breakages yet. Still on my first set of gears too. Starting to really like the car but i still have concerns once we go outdoors with gears etc.
Looking forward to trying it tho.

built my kit with the upgrade kit as standard so have the metal braces on the shock towers and the front bulk head fitted and ready to go.
just waiting on a 3mm turnbuckle wrench and some green slime to try and sort my leaky diff also trying to source some diff gaskets at a decent postage cost |

I'm still on the kit gears, had no issues at all running carpet and slippy gym floors with minipins. I've just built up a new diff for easy swapping and testing of oils. built this with he new upgraded gear. not noticed any difference in them, but the kit ones have seemed fine to me. I have recently loosened my slipper. It was set at 6mm when i built the kit, but i just loosened it one full turn. I've not noticed any difference in the slip, which makes me think i'll try it another full turn next time out. One of my racing buddies keeps popping rear diff outdrives, even with upstop limiters added. I've not had a problem though.
