There's no rush at all . That track looks bit, if not a lot flat. You could have a seriously good track there if you get someone who knows what they are doing to put in some good jumps, rhythm sections.

I've been out of RC racing for a long while the Bosscat Works was the last car I bought. I've had lots of cars over the years and I'm now looking to get in to this again. It would seem at the right time. If I like the Taplow club on friday then I'll be putting down a deposit on a sx3
It is a shame that I need new batteries, Charger, Power pack, motors and Speed controller. Can any one tell me if my old 40mhz hand set is likely to work and if the sawn servo is likely to be compatible with the new batteries? Advice would love to know as I guess I'll be putting my hand in my pocket a fair way |

Popped down to Taplow last night a friendly bunch but not many people had good things to say about the CAT's Cougar or SX2. They went on the explain that the front and rear diffs are weak points in the car's. Can anyone shed some light on this?
I've Had cats in the past and loved them, I still think that I'd run another but was looking for some advice and reassurnce before I spank £325 quid on an SX3 next month Thank you. |

I have snapped the internal screw that hold each side together once on the 4wd at the front and hurt my cougar diff trying to get off a pipe due to poor marshalling but i blame myself for that, one wheel high revs wont do it any favors. Strong cars as far as im concerned and I plan on upgrading to the sx3 , currently have a sx1 with bigbores added and its done me well with very low up keep, only real issue is the dodgy bearings they come with as they do fail more than expected so its worth getting something better. |

I've no idea what they meant by the diffs been weak, as Schumacher diffs are considered some of the best, when built correctly. The original Cat diff halves were over hardened, so they broke quite easily, but that was at least 2 if not 3 years ago. The Cougar diff had some isolated problems with the circlip groove, which meant that the diff could loosen itself, but this was an easy fix by spreading the circlip before installing it.
I think the SX3 is/will be a very good car. It's based on the SX2 which was one of the more popular car's, but it has been improved in many ways over the SX2, mainly from customer feedback. The whole centre transmission is now 5mm bearings instead of 4mm, the nylon/alloy gearset is entirely steel, the slipper is easier to set & adjust and the spur gear runs on a bearing so it shouldn't melt. Best of all the car is much easier to drive for any level of driver, so it should be quicker over a 5 minute run. If you have any more questions feel free to ask

As said I've had a few cats and loved them. And I THINK I'M GOING TO STICK WITH THEM. Just a shame I've got to wait for the SX3 to come out
Now going to MK modles for advice on motors and ESC's. Novak seem to be good motors and people are raving about speed passion too so we will see. |

As far as I know, none of the drivers have actually had one in pieces yet so we don't know. I'd imagine 5x10 but I can confirm after this weekend

In not 100% sure on the physical size, but when I changed the bearings on mine last week they were a combination of front and rear wheel bearings.
