EH!!!! Why for? The best handling is achieved by placing the engine in the middle. Therefore if its a "sports car" you want the best handling, so put the engine in the middle.

A true sports car would never have the engine in the front. Any sports car that does will tend to handle like cr@p. The only car to get away with that is probably the mini

Yep. But far the money its too slow. If i was paying £35k for a car id expect it to get to 60 in quicker than 6 seconds.

Great clip but the Audi looks to be going 30% the speed of the Porsche !

R8 a lovely motor but take a look at the track shootout in EVO magazine. It would be nowhere compared to say a rear wheel drive 997 GT3RS

well duurr

a gt3rs isn't just a regular version with thick carpets etc its a very focused specialised car! R8 would make a lovely daily driver tho

the Germans do build some awesome cars that can actually realistically be used everyday, no matter where the engines are located

Oh so we are talking about daily drivers and not 4wd over 2wd as per your initial post now are we ?

No need for the "duurr"

Im confident that the regular GT3 with the "thick carpets" as you put it would also show a R8 the way around a track too

Yes the R8 is a great car, i have a mate who owns a 997 turbo and a R8.

Yep, i guess you right, front engined cars do handle like crap, just check the latest autocar test for proof.

Bulls$%#, when you can come up with a jap import that can put a 1:17.4 round Dunsfold then come back and tell me, but i think you might struggle. The atom already went round Dunsfold and didnt top it, but seen as it isnt mid-engined i agree up to a point. Then again, the atom isnt a sports car, sports cars are designed for driveablitly and fun, not out and out grip.

And it still stands to reason that caterhams will wipe the floor with any given Lotus Elise

My Punto can do Dunsfold in 1.13 easily I have renamed it the italian stallion and even had a matching tatoo just above me left nipple.

Thinking about putting another 1.0 engine in the rear to make it four wheel drive, should be able to crack a 10 second quarter mile
