Default Kf on carpet

Advice please , ran a kf on carpet and one thing I had problems with was the car whipping round in the tight corners . If I kept the power on slightly it was ok , a few commented they'd had the same problem with there's . The car was fast when I adapted to it , but I'm trying the kf before my kids switch to them . Just a bit concerned they'll struggle with it , just wondering if there's any tips to try and avoid it doing this .
The cars ally chassis in low grip , running 10k in the diff . My other kf was doing the same thing and it has a ball diff in .
Also the car was running on foam tyres .

From what you describe, the car is shifting too much weight forward under heavy deceleration, thus loosing grip at the rear. As you say keeping the power on a little helps as is reduces the amount of weight transfer. If this is the case then the easy fix is stiffening the front end a little. Both oil and spring. Also, reducing rear droop can help.

Hope this helps.
If not give me a shout with a little more info of the problem and your setup and I'll try to sort you out.

Also depends on what foam tyres you are using. Are the fronts full width or on slim wheels? Most classes that run foams run a softer shore rating on the rear than the front. If you're using additive this will also affect them depending how much and where you're applying it on the tyre.
Post your full setup and I'm sure one of us can help some more.

I bought the cars second hand , they are just how they came other than 10k diff oil . I plan on stripping them back and renewing any worn parts , as for foams they to came with the car so not sure what they are .
I know it's hard for you guys to call it without the set up , if there's some pointers I can start there and see how they go from there . I do have some new foams to use also , the car was brilliant on the whole going where you pointed it . Outdoor the kf2 was superb .

Try the car with yellow mini spikes on the rear and cut staggers on the front and see if that eliminates the problem. If so then work on foam additives etc.
I now run 2 KFs and find them easier, faster and more forgiving than 210s, TM2s and Yokomo.

I put green springs on the rear and 4.0 on the front , 40w front and 35w rear . It has made the car a lot better , only did it a couple of times .
The diff had drained of oil so not clear to say yet , I've refilled the diff moved rear shocks forward and going to replace the foams as they weren't making full contact .
I'm thinking of setting all linkage for camber , toe etc as per build instructions and starting from there .

Try rebuilding the car back to kit set up and change all the settings on the speedo to factory and start from scratch, and also go to minipins and cut staggers,

Just one thing I can think is, are you using additive? On the front? If you are try not using any on the front.

Can't use anything but foams , I used addictive last time out but only on the rear .
Looking at the esc brake is almost non existent, maybe a fault ? I'll look further into it , harder springs on the rear seemed to help a lot . The diff got worse as the night went on , keen to see if it's better with diff sorted .

I've been running the ally rear dink but I'm thinking the cf would be better , being able to add washers .

If that's all you can use is foams then you will probably need to go really hard on springs and oils, if you can put your complete set up on here then that will be easier for people to help you out

Last time out I used blue Spring on the rear and 4.0 on the front .
AE 40w front and 35w rear , pistons should be kit but need to check .

Curious to what limiters I should run , up and down travel . Pretty much a flat track .

not using additive on the front can create more problems as the tyres pick up crap off the track.

Is the carpet high grip, I've never run on carpet and foams with my KF so I don't know if you would do thing differently, but on high grip Astro I've always found 600/700 front and 450/500 rear and black core Spring always a good starting point.

One track is medium grip and the other is medium/high grip , your suggestion sounds a good one . I'm after making the cars fairly safe for my kids . When I get the new foams sorted I can build from there , I'm trying to under stand camber link geometry to maybe put a bit more under steer at the front and make the rear more planted .
