Default Tamiya Egress & Anvante

Hey Folks,

A little bit of advice needed here, want to get a Tamiya Egress as a present for someone to bring up the old times and guess the originals go for a small fortune right?

What are the Mk2 Avante's like? Something like the below..

http://www.cbmodels.co.uk/xcart/prod...7&cat=0&page=1

I was thinking of getting these and getting a replica Egress body shell to get it looking like the old Egress, will they fit? Any other suggestions on what to do?

I'm not after a 100% genuine vintage, just something very similar, chassis layout etc.., dont mind if its a re-release etc...!

THANKS

You could also look for the Tamiya Vanquish - It was a cheaper egress and many of the egress hop-up's fitted it

Egress are worth a fortune NIB or new built, a lot is down to the kits being pretty rare. Collectors usually want it looking as the kit, so this is fairly cheap http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=78796 because it has different tyres and the chassis is fibreglass instead of carbon.

If you want something that will get run best to stick to a modern chassis, actually running an old chassis is the fastest way to destroy those happy memories. Don't know if an Egress shell will fit a DF03, it probably can be made to fit as the original Avante body certainly can.

If you are looking for a DF03 chassis to fit the body, the Avante MkII has yellow wheels for the Avante look, the Dark Impact has black wheels more in keeping with the Egress, and it's usually cheaper as well.

Thre been a lot of selling activity for Avante and Egress chassis' recently here in NZ and they prices they've been going for are very reasonable. I sold my Egress with the original Adspec system a few months back for NZ$750 and there is one currently listed on tradeMe (NZ version of ebay) at the moment with a body
