Default TRF501X Front Aluminum Castor Blocks 53961

If you have used them on dirt, please give some feedback on which hole and what if any washers used. I am going to put them on my car and was wondering how much difference they maybe from the stock blocks.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

I havent used them yet but the obvious thing is that you will get more steering in and out of the corner, as i believe that they are 10 degrees.

They feel a little worse and gave less steering, woody used them at Worksop and didn't like the difference. the difference came mainly from the weight I guess??

The kit plastic blocks are 10 degrees if these are as they are identical.

sorry welshy, I didn't reply sooner but I was busy all weekend and net access was very time-limited. Centre one way - Hupo said they were testing one a long time ago but it's still to appear. the yokomo one cant be fitted but theres a photo of one someone made in my southport 2007 national photos, made from some tamiya touring car parts and custom work. not an ideal solution but it's the only one I know of at the moment.

Jimmy, cheers for the info, much appreciated, also cheers for the info on the alloy front castor block, which has surprised me a bit. Also I have looked thru the pics and cant see anything for the one way one off jobie that you were on about. Sorry to be a pain but can you send me a link so I see and hope to do the same.

Evrytime I try to use the aluminium caster block on dirt track, I remove this one to go back on the plastic one .
The caster angle are exactly the same (confirmed by Satoshi and Kyo in Japan during the world).
But may be due flex with the plastic and no with aluminium ?

On carpet or grass track, I prefer aluminium with best and quick response !

Hope this help you

I plan on installing the standard WCE 10 deg. caster blocks soon and wondered where is everyone putting the ball stud and what height spacer? Per the instructions and some setups I found here, I should put it directly over the CVD (inner most hole over the CVD that is)... shown here too... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c9...o/IMG_5921.jpg

I found some posts by DCM by searching "caster" here in the Tamiya section and he posted this about the spacer height... http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost...37&postcount=7 Granted, this is for a DB01/Durga but what do you think?

Well I have decided on the track we have now that the front outer hole with the factory 2mm spacer is what I am running. I have to dial out as much front grip as possible to keep the rear hooked up.
I have finally passed the point of not enough steering, it took a long time to get it out.
The car is fast. .2-.1 within the fastest on the track.
So if I can get the rear to hook I may be dangerous.
Maybe I don't like steering. I was/am a Losi driver. So that maybe it.
We don't change the track but every 6-8 months so working on tuning your car doesn't get to happenn often. We have plenty of time to make those very fine adjustments. Boring. 5.5 months old today.
Now we need a 2wd car.
