You used the white tape and left it on to long I am guessing...

What paint have you used?

The most obvious would be more masking tape - I'd try that before dancing onto meths or something. In fact, thats what I do use in that situation rather than risk damaging the paint with my ham fistedness.
If tape doesn't work I'd use alcohol or surgical spirit or lynx or aftershave as that's what I've got laying round the house.

found some white spirit which has done the trick and hasnt touched the paint work or anything to the shell so happy now,

ive looked at that sticky stuff remover before but i got some abit ago as the father inlaw said he could get it so decided to use it big mistake it rotted the shell wasnt anything left of it luckily it was an old shell i was trying to clean up.

Read the back of nail polish remover. I think I used that last time but I don't have any in the house to read and check it will do any damage to plastic/polycarbonate. Don't think it would.

i tryed the 2 types of nail polish remover the misses had but neither worked at all.white spirit worked great didnt effect the paint at all or the shell and stripped the messy crap with a cupple of rubs.

Ladies hairspray works perfectly then wash it off to stop it being all sticky
