Hobbyking ESC help
Hi Guys
Got an issue with my 120A Turbo hobbyking ESC. Was in my sons car and the servo wire got frayed and caused some interference issues. Have sorted out the servo wire, but for some reason the ESC had reverted back to base settings eg it had for/brake/reverse. Re set the ESc with programme card and re bound the receiver again, but we are getting some intermittent issues, the car looses signal but will start up again. Is this an ESC issue/ receiver issue (spectrum) or shall I try a new sensor lead(which I have) any help or advice greatly received. Cheers Steve |

issues
Check the capacitor. The wire came off of my 120 amp turbo and caused symptoms similar to what you're experiencing.

also check things like thermal cut out - I've seen ESCs appear to lose signal, then start up again, but actually be due to thermal cut out switching power off then restarting once temp drops. One occasion it appeared to be "poor range" as it only did it at far corner of track, which was also end of straight. Car would stop for 2-3 seconds then restart until next time it got to end of straight...
Can also be low voltage cut out if heavy draw on power. do you have capacitors fitted and working?

got capacitors fitted, don't know if they are working, but similar symptoms. Car stops then will restart after a few seconds, temp cut out is set as default but will double check.

if the wires shorted it could have damaged the BEC in the speedo ( battery eliminator circuit) as they are unprotected
