It might have been discussed here or elsewhere and I missed it, but what kind of weight are we expecting? With that aluminum chassis, it seems to me it's going to be heavier than, everything else?

Also, anyone seen the actual production model being tested anywhere? in any official races?

Hey guys,
i'm just returning to the off road scene, and at the moment I race for Serpent with the on road cars.
I've been very interested in the s500, and have sent many emails and have had to reply. The new season is getting very close and nothing has happened, because I would like to know before I go and buy another car.

Does anyone know anything, any help would be much appreciated

thanks
Chris

This page on Red RC says the sides of the S500 are detachable, but I can't see any possibility to do this on the car

I guess they screw on from below? - wether or not they do on that prototype that Gerd hand made in his garage before the show - is another matter entirely.

Indeed, my mistake
I'm glad they are detachable, the side plates reduce flex but the car is way more beautiful with the slim chassis.

It doesn't look anorexic without the sides I think, as it is a bit wider than the Aero A-One, without them it would be the same, which isn't bad

Isn't flex an advantage off-road? Same as flex chassis for touring cars on rough asphalt, a flex chassis on a 4wd should help. I thought?

More flex equals more grip, which isn't really necessary I think (but I'm talking about the tracks here in Belgium). But what do I know, I don't design them, just race 'em
