The HPi rally cars were great to race, me and Stu used to run a club in Burnley and we had about 8 racing - Great fun.

They seem to be quite rare now, although I suppose it was ten years ago!

I would love to race R/C rally cars again, but it's the same old problem of getting enough people together.

I wonder if they would start a class at the new club starting in Rossendale.....

God I hope not. I've already been regretting selling my very custom MR4 Rally

Used to run rings round the HPI's and Rally Weapons.....

ARGHHHH! I sold my HPI, regretted it, then when touring cars started racing at the local club I bought an MR4 off Ebay, must have been one of my first purchases.

It had a Citroen Xsara body and it had dual rate spring shocks on.

It was great, and then I sold it - DOH!

Kamtec make it Jimmy, it looks well sweet!!

One of Phils cars is in Model World Maidstone, it's awesome!

Proper detailed Toyota twin cam engine, he used 64dp pinions as cam pulleys!

I'll try and take some pics but I am sure there are some on net, go Showtime let's see what you can find!!

I did a meeting in that HPI series at kiddy. It was hard work if I remember. Getting the car to handle was a real pain. I ran the Yokomo toyota corrola. Good fun, but no where near being on the pace. lol

The whole thing just didn't take off though.

Just spotted this, Funny that nobody has built up more rally tracks, simple cars, look like the real thing , and the track is one hell of a lot cheeper to build, yer ok running with the car may not be to everyones taste (or ability in some cases),but from a kids/teens point of veiw just the job, and all you need is a small patch of woodland and some warning tape..not half an acre af land planning permits and a couple of grands worth of astro.

Greets,

i think the Escort body is from Retro Racing [Finland] IIRC

http://www.retroracing.com/epages/OV...ories/Products

A word of caution though,i beleive they could be made from PPE and not Lexan,i have seen a shattered one in someones showroom on Tamiya Club.

This would suggest some other clear plastic sheet used, other than Lexan.
I think Much More is importing for the UK.

Great looking shell, but i need it to be confirmed as Lexan before i would purchase one,oh and i`m skint at the moment,so i don`t really need to ask yet
