I don't mind how it is now with the no replies, but it is annoying to PM about something when it sold ages ago.
Sellers please update your adverts once a deal has been made |

I really liked having the replies visible, as many would shed additional light on the items for sale. e.g. someone might ask a specific question about it, and the answer would be posted there for everyone to see.
As it is now, that question might be sent to the seller in a PM, but the reply would only be known to the PMer in a PM reply. However, that question is likely to be something that lots of people want to know... Sure, people can theoretically edit their posts, but I'm not sure eveyrone knows how to do that (as evidenced by all the items "for sale" that are actually long since sold), and besides, it's much more interesting to see what questions people have actually posted. That's my two cents.... So yeah - I think Jimmy's suggestion is the best way to go. Stops the bumpage, but still allows questions to be answered publicly. |

I think i liked the old way best. As someone already mentioned questions may already be answered in the thread. Also sometimes the more experienced people point things out that are wrong to stop people like me getting ripped off!. I expect this is mentioned elsewhere, but i do think traders should be made to state they are traders in every new thread they put in the for sale section, as your rights as a consumer are different

Grrr, was looking at the sales section just now and I think I've snapped. Why do sme people think that selling a car is like playing a game of Guess Who?
For example, here's a typical advert that could have come from the past year on here (details changed to protect the innoccent...or stupid): Quote:
For a start, put more details in. Is the car stock? If not, what upgrades does it have? How old is it? etc etc. Then, putting ''good condition'' means nothing if there's no pics. I've seen stuff described as good, someone's bought it, and its turned out to be an absolute dog. Something that could have been avoided with an honest description, and images. And why put ''ask for pics'' or ''pics on request''? Who on Earth has ever bought something without seeing it? If you have pics, get off your lazy 4rse, plug the camera cable in, and upload to Photobucket!!! Finally, its not ebay, its not Cluedo, or Guess Who. Put a price up FFS! You know exactly what its worth, so why play games? Why beat around the bush? To me, anyone who can't be bothered to list something properly, do research to get a price, or even take a photograph of the items....aren't going to get my business. And thats mainly because I don't want to get ripped off by someone else. I know this sounds like a rant, but I'd hate to see others get ripped off either by shoddy adverts. RC Car Racing isn't a cheap hobby, £100 is a lot of money to lose if things are mis-sold or just badly put up. You're just wasting peoples time with cr4p adverts. Consider this, when you're looking for your next road car, would you enquire if it said something along the lines of this?: Quote:

Totally agree with the above statement. To quote Family guy's own Peter griffin "It grinds my gears".lol
Im also finding it annoying that now, instead of bumping people are simply creating a new for sale advert again. Now before anybody points out, yes i am subject to doing it myself whilst selling my x-6. Simply because "If you cant beat em, join em", and the fact that i put the car back to standard and dropped the car by £40. I think id like to change my mind and say that id prefer the for sale section the way it was. Jamie........ |

Agree with what Garry has written. You are supposed to create a new for sale thread after one week if your items havent sold. Thats how it works. It was changed as some people were bumping their for sale items three times a day. |

*sigh*, its still happening.
''PM for pics'' or ''Pics on request''. What are they trying to hide? Smells of big scammers.

It works very well. One suggestion however to the Feedback section; once a user has a poll created make the thread a sticky to make it easier to find and possibly put the threads in alphabetical order.

you can do this yourself
click on thread in red circle to sort A to B you'll then have to go through the pages to find who you are looking for or follow the video guide which is a sticky in the section http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39285

No pics, no prices, no effort. The know what they stuff is worth (apparently), but they must want to play a guessing game. Please make pics complusory, at the very least, Mr oOple.

lol
it wont bother me to delete the adverts lol. just give people a warning saying that from such and such a date all adverts without prices and pictures will be removed. its done on maxbashing and seems to work very well. |

I must admit, someone posted about making it obligatory to post up a pic on every advert, and I wouldn't even mind seeing a date stamp or a piece of paper with the date in the pic, so we actually know the seller 'owns' the item, or has it to sell.

As Pete said, some forums insist on pictures and prices, and i personally think it works very well.
There seems to be far too many adverts on here lately where the seller wants you to play a guessing game. Highly annoying. I say give the seller 20mins to add a picture and/or price or the advert gets deleted. Simples. |

Yes.
And a ban for all those like this poster who use oOple as a way of selling a quite frankly obscene amount of stuff and nothing else - ie oonly use the forsale section.
