Default Team Ireland at Petit RC

7 of us entered for this at the moment, try and get in for this if you can. Was awesome last year. Paddy wagons are ready to roll. We should probably bring 2 at this stage but there's no problem getting 3 if we need them!!!!

HOTEL & TRAVEL INFO

Hi All,
I know it's months away, but Xmas will rattle in quickly followed by panic unless info is passed around now.

TRAVEL:
At the moment there are 7 drivers going (+ Dave Bolger I expect). It has been proposed that a camper van is taken along with my Xantia (any other suggestions welcome) and maybe split everyone up so that it costs everyone the same. Ferry out at 8am from Dublin Port on Friday 14th Jan. You can expect to be at the race track at 3.30pm. There are two options regarding coming back. Leave on Sunday for the night ferry or stay another night, do the post-mortum over a beer or two, and come back at a leisurely pace on Monday afternoon - home for about 6 o'clock in the evening. Please make you preference known asap.

HOTELS:
Option 1, There is a Travelodge Express that is cheap but not cheerful. About 15 euro a night per person (2 sharing), but you really do only get what you pay for! Only food is from Vending machine etc. Be warned.
Option 2, is my preference, The Hilton at East Midlands Airport. About 40 euro a night per person (2 sharing), but there is a restaurant, bar etc. and it's generally more civilised.
Anyone wishing to avail of the Travelodge - it's no problem collecting you each morning on the way to the track.

BOOKINGS:
Ferries: I get a 10% discount with Stenaline - so I'll work out a price and come back to everyone based on a 8 persons spread between a camper and car.
Hotel: I suggest that everyone gets into groups of 2 and books their own hotel based on their preference between Hilton/ Travelodge / Other etc. The hotels will need to be booked very soon!!!!

More info later

Hi all,

I just had a look at ferries. Camper + Xantia + 8 people will cost only
80 euro a head return!!! Can anyone do cheaper?

More Track info from ardent website

we will be converting the Raceway into a 480sq.mtr off-road multisurface buggy track. We will paint a track layout on the wooden floor and mix in grit to give a bit of grip in areas, then lay a combination of astro turf and carpet with smooth wooden jumps to simulate jumps seen on outdoor tracks - all-in-all 4 different types of surface.

All sounds good.

I'm in and paid.

My preference would be the travel lodge & last ferry back on the Sunday night.

MiCk B. :-)

I'm on for the Hilton hotel and back Monday. I only ever stayed at a travelodge once before and I vowed never again.

Have changed your preference to Premier Inn above.

As I said in my earlier post, it's probably best to get into groups of 2 and book independently - saves any messing.
I'm happy to do the rounds in the Xantia to both/all the hotels and collect everyone each morning.

Tyres wise yellow minispikes I would imagine!

I wish I could get to this, unfortunately I happen to be buying a house around the same time as this event so all my money has already been accounted for several times over
