Smile Quick Question - New Buggy

Hi, wondered if one of you guys could answer a question for me. I have taken delivery today of my start RC buggy. It is a Thunder Tiger Phoenix BX2 from Modelzone. It said it was ready to run and does work really well, but there are no instructions at all, no tube to hold the car ariel out of the way (although I stole the one of my sons toy RC car), and no clips to hold the battery in place. Is this normal ?. I don't want to use the car too much in case I am supposed to setup in some way, also I don't know if anything else should of come with the car. Can't get hold of Modelzone by phone or email. Apart from this very pleased. Seems quite quick to me.

Do you normally get instructions?

Thanks for that. Well first hour spent driving car. So loved it. Only one question, after we had been driving for about 25 mins the car cut out. Steering working but no motor. Looking at instructions I think esc cut out due to over heating. Is this normal or is it because its a cheaper buggy. Got going again after 15 mins, had another 20mins then had to go home. Great fun though.

Probably heat yes. But races only last 5 mins anyway...

Ste,

You should get battery holders with the kit? Send modelzone a message and ask them to send one out to you.
As for the esc heat, Si is right, races only last 5 mins so really driving cars past 10 mins at a time will only happen when practicing so not a problem if your esc overheats.
Car looks well enough to give it a run out on Sunday so turn up with your batteries and charger and have a go. First meeting is free so nothing to lose.

Will certainly come and watch Sunday. Don't think we are really up to a standard anywhere near good enough to take part in race, don't want to get in way of experienced drivers. Will go and practise on Saturday and come and watch Sunday. Cheers for advice.

If your car is cutting out after 25 mins which is a long run time, it'll be the low voltage cut off, not the overheating cut off.

Default Another new truck

My sons Ansmann Macnum truck arrived from eBay. Couple of issues, just wondered if some one could check what I have done is Ok. First, the truck creeps backwards at the neutral position. I adjusted throttle adjust on the transmitter and this seems to of fixed it. Second, the controller works backwards ie pulling trigger towards handle makes it go backwards instead of forwards. In the menu of the futuba PL2 transmitter I changed servo setting to reverse. This fixed the problem, but will it do any long term damage? Also after I have done this the brakes are not as sharp, will have a look into this tomorrow. Any input you can give would be great. Cheers Steve

Setting it up as reverse servo on the controller will be fine, I would re calibrate the esc with the controller again just make sure everything is set neutral on your trims and check the epa is set at 100% for forward /reverse then calibrate your esc.
Thats how I do mine anyway.
