Default what are people using

I just wondered what 1/18 buggies people are using, ive had a look and the rc18t2/b2 and seams pretty good for the monet (£107 for kit to make either) and looked at the losi mini 8 but that seams alot more expensive as i can only find it in rtr form.

ive seen that people run lrp sharks but cant find them anywere

any other sugestions and best place to buy?

when i started racing micro, just about 2years ago, i started with a FTX blaze, cheap as chips about 75quid for rolling car, i run it brushed and it was easily as fast as the brushless buggies, and best thing with the blaze is it runs the same gear as the LRP shark.now i have a lwb shark after all you can upgrade the blaze.

Take a look at the Losi Mini8, and Carisma GT14B as well, both good cars.
I have a Shark LWB, so keep an eye out on the UK micro forums, as they have good 2nd hand cars you can buy.

i also use the lrp sharks, i use the short wheel base for our medium sized track on a friday night and i use my shark long wheel base for the summer and winter series as the track is massive,

now for backup and parts i would suggest you get the losi mini 8ight which i dont own myself yet as i have too many shark spares to even consider it, but if you look for lrp shark parts on the web they are getting scarse lately although you can pick them up in the states under the name duratrax vendetta,

the losi mini 8ight, if you search for spares for that car, they are everywhere.

the losi sells new for £184.99, which is pretty good for a ready to race car.

you can get the sharks second hand for between £40 and £150, all depends what it comes with, and they still hold their own against the losi, the fastest drivers at our track still have sharks.

there is a good one on ebay at the moment, which i am watching but wont be bidding on as i have 5 complete cars and enough spares to build another 7 at least, lol,

If you want to race a micro, the gt14b or losi mini8 offer excellent value for money.
I have the gt14b, and its the best value r/c i have ever bought. Mini8 seems very similar. Just add lipo to the gt14, and its ready to race. Maybe change pinions for bigger tracks. Check Ukmicrorc forum for a lot of info on both.
