Hi mark.

Ive been away from racing for a few months and just got back into it the last month. Sold the durango last year and then bought a k1 in the new year but didnt like it. Ended up getting 2nd durango again lol.

Looking forward to racing against you on Sunday.

Forgot to ask:

1) What time will the meeting start, and what time is best to arrive?

2) How many rounds of qualifying, and will there be multi-leg finals (so I know how many LiPos to charge)?

Most people tend to arrive by around 8.00ish.

Format is generally:

Track open for free practice from 8.00 until around 9.15.
Booking in until about 9.00.
Drivers briefing at 9.15
First heat at 9.30

Four rounds of qualifying (round by round, best 2 to count) and usually three legged finals for all.

We have always managed 3 legged finals in summer series before and I could only see this not happening due to either bad weather or too many drivers to allow a sensible finishing time.

Cheers

Rob

Hi Guys. Thanks once again to the TORCH crew for putting on a first class meeting.
Thanks also to Matt Owen for his commentary skills.
I have to say that I can't remember ever struggling so much as I did today.
Several reasons that I won't expand on here. However, some were car related, and others, more obviously, driver skills.
Some cars suit some drivers, and others it seems do not.
However, I must extend my gratitude especially to Al for his words of advice. It made an instant impact. Also to Steve B. for his help and words of encouragement as usual. Rob Forbes, pity we could not programme the esc. I will try and sort that for my next time out. The weather was good, albeit a little breezy.
See you all next time, provided my testing on Wednesday sees some improvement.

Ruining you mean Steve and Mikey did 99.9%, happy to help.

Seriously though, I often say how good this club is and today reaffirmed my reasons. The lengths the chaps at TORCH go to to encourage new blood in to the sport despite age is exceptional. I had a loverly chap come and have a chat who is just starting out in his 60's who said part of the reason is because of the welcome he received from this club! How frickin awesome is that, good luck to him!

Thank you for a great day, well worth every minute of the 14 hour day

Lastly, 4th visit for me and great improvements every time to an already first class venue/track. Nice fence work

Matt Owen

Had an excellent day today from start to finish.

I spent all day Saturday indoors, missed the wall-to-wall sunshine to rebuild my diffs and do a load of soldering/preparation but it's worth every minute spent when you know the car will be reliable on race day.

Thanks to all involved for a great day's racing, hope it stays dry on Wednesday so I can try the legendary one-way front drive unit!

Brian always a pleasure to help and give advice, tame the cars a little more, use your clutch to soften the acceleration and will help hook the corners up. Practice Wednesday ill spend some time on the rostrum to see if I can offer any advice.

Appreciate the great feedback, the work is never done, getting closer to where we want things, rewarding when the racing and atmosphere support the efforts,
Thanks Steve

Very well done Torch team, what a brilliant race meeting.

Loved today's track layout, the hard graft is for sure paying off.

Thank you for giving Charlie and Rhiannon some track time.

See you at Rd3.

James.

Thanks to the usual suspects today, the committee for starters for running the show. Also a big thanks to Brian Burgess for the donations, Richard Roberts for the bearing, and Chris SS and Richard for some good tussles in the finals. and a big hi to the rest of you with whom I occasionally share banter with

Thumbs up also to this Mat Owen chap, didn't recognise the voice but the commentary was great imo. Quite informative and quick on how it was going on track.

Finally, some pictures, you'll have to excuse me if they're a bit crap, I'm only a beginner.
