The only real upgrades you need are the Alloy Rear Upper Transmission Housing and the 5° Alloy Front Caster Blocks

I am going to be racing on medium grip astro with tarmac and concrete areas (Eden park raceway). People have mentioned the ball diff which one is it? Is it a direct replacement for the geared diff (never used geared before so no idea on setting up and oil to use and how oil affects it)

Ball diff is a direct replacement, but only for low grip really.

Stick some 10k in the gear diff to start, check the schumacher site for setups/ info.

For eden park you will want a ball diff, here is a link to the one you want.

Hi All,

I have just bought the KF2 SE, should there be additional instructions on the different configurations from the KF2. I was expecting a additional set of instructions. Can see that there is the extra parts.

I have not started building it yet, just wanted to make sure that I have everything.

Cannot wait to get started.

On another point, what is the best way to fit Slim Shorties (am going to be starting out with the low grip - motor in the middle). I have a couple of sets and they look so small. Have got lots of foam that came in their boxes. Just wondered if anyone has run them and could help me out with a pic or two.

Thanks
MC

The additional instructions are in in the packets with the low grip parts or mid configration parts

Thanks Paul, had a great morning getting all my bits, just a little concerned how small the Slim Shorties are.

I've found I've been adding weight under my normal size shorties tbh as the car seems to get faster the more weight I put into it.

Not seen anyone run the thin shorty outdoors only inside or when it's the American stock class for weight reasons.

Do you have an idea of what I need to fit them as they are smaller than the width of the chassis, and lower too. Could use lots of padding, but that would be a short term fix as foam would loose its strength.

Scroll down this page and you will see orlowski has used some sort of battery spacer foam pad glued to his battery straps.

They are a lot wider in the pics, they do not appear to be the same. sorry I meant the car pic not the LRP pic.

Hi guys. Could it be said that the SE with its 3 possible motor locations can be a one size fits all car? I mean this as in you could use it from one extreme to the other grip wise, without possibly having to have 2 cars, a low and high grip? I know changing the layout is not a 5 minute job, but I'm an old school racer where the idea of perhaps needing two 2wd cars would have been thought of as crazy
