Today's regional was very well run and the track wasn't as scary as first feared. Well done Stu. Please could you put a link up to the results, ta?

Agree with the postings so far - the meeting was well run, with Stuart running race control as well as driving. Thanks Stuart.
The track held up well, and it had plenty of plus points - wide and flowing, challenging jumps. Yes it was bumpy, but it is offroad. In the interest of being helpful - one deep rut on the far side of the track opposite the rostrum was a killer for 1/10th; several blind spots for marshals that cost some drivers a lot of time. But I would return - hopefully parking and pitting would have more space available. General: we really must emphasise at drivers' briefing that qualifying is not racing, and if you are a faster driver you have the right to pass without being impeded. Give the same benefit to other drivers and everyone will qualify in accordance with their ability. I don't think it's a problem in the upper heats, but race control can remind drivers in lower and middle heats during the heat. Usually impeding is not intentional; it's inexperience and/or getting involved in the racing spirit. But it upset some drivers yesterday and we should try to help them if we can. But all considered, some really good racing on a challenging track. |

Again thanks for a great meeting enjoyed it and seemed a good atmosphere. Lucky with the weather.
Only really had one problem on the big jump where you lost sight of your car in between the two big jumps and didn't really know if it was straight or not - maybe the rostrum was just slightly in the wrong place- but again just took my time over it. Think we have to remember that this is a 1/8th track and they were good enough to let us race on it. Again well done and may thanks hopefully see you again next year. Cheers to Stu for running it - top man J |
