Thought Xray would of at least centred the servo.... Peoples homebrews of the XB4 look better than XB2 IMO. The fact the rear diff is actually accessible I love though! Looks like 4 bolts and out comes the diff

Got to be honest pretty disappointing in my opinion from Xray, proof will be in the pudding when they hit the tracks. But to me just looks like they have cobbled a 2wd together without having to create hardly any new parts. I agree that the chassis Chris has modded should work so much better on the high traction surfaces and looks a better job.

Have to agree with you guys here,i was looking forward to seeing this right up until i saw the pics,if i had the choice i would run the car Chris,S has made himself as that will work in all conditions far better,i see xray's car suffering in low grip much like the DB1 did, hence the DB2 to work in all conditions.

Default Xray 2wd

Well not sure about it yet will wait to see how it does first plus I'd rather have Chris's conversion.

I think it looks great and is exactly what I was expecting – a lightly modified version of the 4WD without the bits you don’t need so £50 cheaper. Just what people have been doing themselves for the last year. I don’t think Xray are trying to present it as much more. Is definitely on the list of “maybe” cars for me for next year but have to agree that if you are already running a converted 4WD XB4 there is probably little to get too excited about.

What is more interesting is the trend of trying to move the weight back a bit (motor further back and shortie lipo) as post above. A previous thread on here was debating whether you needed 3 different cars with different motor layouts (rear, mid and forward) to be competitive. I think the general consensus was no you don’t need 3 cars but do we now really have 4 options to choose from – rear, traditional mid, shortie lipo/forward (DB2/TM2) and full forward (DB1/XB4 2wd)?

I am disappointed as well. I was really hoping for something with an XB4 rear end, but with a front end designed specifically for 2wd. Similar to the DB1 / DB2 or TM2. This just looks like a lazy attempt at 2wd.
It will probably go well enough, but then so do everyones XB4's when they run them in 2wd mode.

I dont yet own an xray, this was someone else's conversion. They have since cut the side guards down and fitted a DB1 body!

I think it looks great! And I like that fact that it shares 95% of parts with the 4WD. Only thing I find a bit odd is the wide chassis in the front, but if it don't rub then no biggie I guess...

I find the new Losi 22-4 interesting as well, but it's a shame there's almost no common parts with the 22...

What I'm wondering is: Is the DB2 better on all tracks/conditions or is the DB1 faster on high grip astro?

I was planning to have one of this kind (XB4 2WD) and one Night Fox XL for low grip dirt tracks (or in rain conditons) (B4 with T4 chassis and FTW body).

I was hoping for a little more tbh - more weight at the back etc as the XB4 as a 2wd does suffer from rear end grip issues in the cold and wet.

Don't know what to do now, was waiting on this to make a purchase but I'm a little under whelmed tbh
