Default FrSky Converted radio latency or 'feel'?

So, i converted my Futaba FF3 with the FrSky module. Out of curiosity-to those who have also converted their radios-Did you notice a difference in 'feel' for better or worse?

Fom an 'armchair racer' perspective i was trawling the interwebs and found latency figures for the FrSky Combo. It didn't look too great and wondered how other people who had converted their radios felt with the performance?

When I did my KO ultra 3 I thought it was great, it's certainly way better than the spektrum DSM modules feel. Then I tried a Sanwa, and couldn't go back to the frsky. Are you coming from 40meg? how do you think it feels? in my opinion they are fine, better than spektrum, and if you balance cost to convert vs cost of a Sanwa, then it's a no brainier if cost is an important consideration.

As soon as i got the Futaba i converted it (i always wanted one!). I tried it briefly on 40 Mhz but not enough to decide, the convenience of 2.4Ghz out weighed it.

Just thinking that i'm driving with acceptance of the latency and maybe i can't react fast enough-maybe it's just me having slow reactions!?

Interesting to hear about the Sanwa...

Got to admit, the FrSky has been bullet proof so far. When we are looking at servo times for 60 degrees around .12 seconds, does 0.22 ms (quoted by FrSky) make much of a difference to 53 ms?

Used 2 FrSky converted units, one Futaba and one Sanwa. Both have been fantastic! They 'feel' absolutely fine to me!

Super reliable with no glitches and no need to ever re-bind. Highly recommended.

Thank you for the positive views on this, i've been looking at the Futaba 4GRS as a replacement for my Field Force 3 in the long term.

I recently raced on loose dirt and was wondering if i could have held it in the corners easier (Schumacher KF2 in MM config-so it was always going to be a challenge!) if i was using one of the more expensive radios.

I have 16 or 17 year old 3vc and a newer 3cvs,

3vc has frsky module with the V8 little receiver, 14 quid, in the printed case from ebay, tiny thing.

I bought the 3vcs as a spare/upgrade due to my other radio being so old, it came with faast system, 90 quid for a receiver

I put that in one car, and frsky on the other car

couldnt tell difference

I will be putting frsky module in the 3vcs sell the faast receiver and buy 2 or 3 frsky Rx with the money LOL

I'm tempted to try the 40Mhz modules again to back to back them...then again-can i be bothered because the aerial has been replaced with 2.4Ghz..
