Default Big bore shocks for xx4

Hi,

Am digging out my old xx4 and looking at getting some new shocks, prob big bore? what would you recommend?
Thinking the TLR ones but open to suggestions.

I've been out of the game for ages so don't know whats what really!
Also does anyone have any going spare?

Thanks for your help!

If it has the original losi threaded shocks on then dont bother IMO...

Get some tough racing belts though and you'll be fine

Depends on what kind of track your racing on? However the original shocks are still ace, i use them on a few cars i still run (atomic carbon S2, Cobra racing B42)... I have got big bores which i could use instead, just never felt the need

Thanks for reply.
On astro mainly, quite a tight track with small/medium jumps. Original shocks a good bet for this?

A couple of years ago I was running the XX4 full time and on astro I got the TLR modern big bores. I worked with them for ages trying to get them right then one day I just stuck the WE original shocks on and went a second a lap faster. I didn't look back and went onto finish 5th at a regional, my best ever result to that date and the car was just awesome! I would also suggest the tough racing belts along with a full fresh set of pulleys including the clicker pulley and you'll be away. It can still compete with the top cars, cos its the BEST!

They'll be spot on for the kind of track you have described! I completely agree with the guy above, still one of the best cars out there! Ive got the 22-4, its getting there but i still think id be faster with the xx4

Thanks guys that's a great help! Didn't realize they were as good as that!

Any mods that are a must other than the front brace? I've put the 22 front arms and tower braces on it too.

Cheers

Only thing I would defiantly do is put the rear wishbones and hubs off of the XXX-CR on. This is a mod I always ran and back in the day all the Losi team drivers did, they do require a bit of grinding to get the hubs to fit but well worth it. There should still be some old set ups on here from Tom and Danny when they were on the team.

This was my XX4. Wish I hadn't sold it :thumb down:
