Setting DB-01 slipper and diffs
How do you guys do it? From what I know, without the slipper in place, the only thing that can slip are diffs, so I grab 3 wheels and turn one (2 elbows, 2 hands) and if it slips, either the front or rear diff is slipping and then I check both and do a bit of guess/detectivework until they're both tight enough.
With the slipper in place, if I do the trick above, and I see the centre layshaft and nut turning, the slipper is slipping before either diffs and I should be fine. If the layshaft is not turning but something is slipping, I have to check both front and rears again. I don't have a front one-way but it should be the same way to check the rear diffs with it installed. Am I doing it right or did I miss something? Is there an easier way?

Also, I took the slipper out and both diffs seem quite tight now (feels tight) but if I grab the wheels and try to make them slip, they can still slip. Am I right to think I will never be able to get them tight enough to not slip when I turn the wheels by hand (it does seem to be a lot of force because the wheels are of such big diameter).
I guess what I'm trying to ask is... how tight is tight enough?

if you are setting diffs, lock the slipper up (wind the nut right in), set the diffs, then back the slipper off and set it on the track.

slippers n diffs
omg you are doing this the hard way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. take the cover off the slipper 2. lock the slipper as said by dcm 3. grab hold of a rear wheel and the spur gear at the same time then try to turn the opposite rear wheel.set this so you can only just turn the wheel. the tear diff is now set 4. repeat step 3 with front diff 5.slacken slipper now repeat again step 3 and set slipper to slip just before the diff. hope this helps steve
